about

This album was made in 2007, it has been remastered in 2017.

The tracks are from down to mid tempo. Some numbers are bass heavy, others Electro and Dub influenced. Standing the test of time this is a more downtempo offering complete with strange sound signatures, bass drops, cinematic sounds and media samples and voice grabs.

Thanks to all that contributed voice samples to the tunes.

this is what I wrote back in 2007, still very relevant now...

Mainstream media strikes an ignorant pose as it stage-manages its broadcasts. It pre-empts its expected response and designs how it’s delivered. News is presented laden with emotional triggers that pander to vested corporate interests. Existing power structures are preserved as knowledge and current affairs are prescribed in a carefully designed manner.

By deconstructing the news and media broadcasts you notice these equations a little more easily. The much-overused Terrorism tag is used to garnish hatred towards the chosen enemy that stands in the way of the system of destruction and Armageddon.

The current con artistry behind presenting nuclear power as a clean alternative to fossil fuels is deplorable a last ditch stop gap that will place us out of the frying pan an into the fire of genetic mutations that will spell the end for the human race. Alternative energies are not allowed to flourish and replace what is destroying the planet.
Hope lies in massive organised protest and reclaiming of media space to offset the poisonous transmissions of the mainstream Shmedia.

Shmedia is an attempt to make sense of these crazy times where its becoming all too obvious we are heading towards a toxic and lifeless future if massive change is not enacted really soon.
Music has long been used as a tool to empower the community and transmit an alternative message. The rise of urban global music hints at a new take on globalization, a new solidarity amongst those who would rather make good music than add to the spirit-deadening mainstream.
